About the Artist

A native New Yorker, Kristina began ice-skating at the age of two. Her parents were professional European adagio stars on ice and life growing up revolved around touring in shows with them and later on on her own. After performing and training for hours on the ice-rink for most of her life she left ice-skating behind to pursue other endeavors, most notably opening the famous jazz club Zinc in Greenwich Village. After running the club for many years, she felt more and more drawn towards sculpting and now dedicates all of her time to it. Her past life of professional ice-skating and dancing have inspired her to look for elegant lines and beauty within her sculpting. She has studied with Anthony Antonios and Arslan at the Art Students League of NY. She lives in New York City with her husband and two boys.
